Zoom the whole Obsidian window in and out with Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + Scroll. It also lets you zoom out further than Obsidian's built-in limit, which is handy for fitting large tables, graphs, or wide notes on screen.

Desktop only. This plugin controls the Electron window zoom, so it does not run on Obsidian mobile.

Features

  • Scroll to zoom — hold Ctrl/Cmd + Shift and scroll up to zoom in, down to zoom out.
  • Extended zoom-out range — go below Obsidian's default minimum (≈63%) down to about 40%, configurable.
  • Preferred zoom command — jump to a zoom level of your choice with a single command (bind it to a hotkey like Cmd/Ctrl+0).
  • Configurable bounds — set both the minimum zoom level and your preferred level in settings, with a live percentage preview.

Commands

Command What it does
Zoom out (extended range) Zoom out one step, past the built-in limit
Zoom to preferred level Jump to your configured preferred zoom
Zoom to minimum level Jump straight to your configured minimum

All three can be bound to hotkeys in Settings → Hotkeys.

Settings

  • Minimum zoom level — the lower bound for scroll zoom-out.
  • Preferred zoom level — the level the "Zoom to preferred level" command jumps to.

Both show a live ≈% preview as you adjust them.
