Korean Input Fix

Fixes Korean (Hangul) IME composition bugs in the editor, on mobile and desktop.

When you type Korean, the last syllable stays underlined (still composing). If you then do anything other than typing, the editor treats the line as "still being edited", so Live Preview does not render checkboxes, lists, callouts, or other Markdown.

Problems this fixes

📱 Mobile (Android, Samsung Keyboard)

• You type - [ ] 사과, press Enter, and the line is not rendered as a checkbox.
• The last syllable (과) keeps its underline even after you tap somewhere else.
• You tap another line and type -, but it stays raw text instead of becoming a list.
• The common workaround: type a throwaway ㅇ + space to force rendering, then delete it.

🖥️ Desktop (Windows, Microsoft Korean IME)

• You type - 내용 and immediately use a hotkey (e.g. insert line above). The hotkey runs while 용 is still composing, so the line is left unrendered.
• Same pattern with any hotkey pressed right after typing Korean: formatting, moving lines, toggling checkboxes, etc.

If you have built a habit of pressing space or typing a dummy character before every Enter or hotkey, this plugin removes the need for it.

What it does

When the last Hangul syllable is still composing and you do something that is clearly not typing, the plugin commits the composition immediately:

• tapping or clicking elsewhere in the editor
• tapping a mobile toolbar button
• pressing Enter / line break
• arrow keys, Tab, Home, End
• any hotkey (Ctrl / Alt / Cmd + key) — committed before the command runs

The composition is committed by briefly moving focus to a hidden input and back, so the on-screen keyboard does not close or flicker on mobile.

It does nothing while you interact with autocomplete dropdowns (e.g. [[#heading]] suggestions), menus, modals, or popovers.

Manual command

Commit Hangul composition — add it to the mobile toolbar (or bind a hotkey) as a fallback.

Copy main.js, manifest.json, and styles.css into <vault>/.obsidian/plugins/korean-input-fix/, restart, and enable the plugin.

한국어

한글 입력 시 마지막 글자가 밑줄(조합 중) 상태로 남아서 마크다운이 렌더링되지 않는 문제를 모바일과 PC 모두에서 해결합니다.

• - [ ] 사과 쓰고 엔터를 쳐도 체크박스로 안 바뀜
• 다른 곳을 탭해도 과 밑줄이 그대로 남아 있음
• 다른 줄에 -를 써도 리스트로 렌더링되지 않고 글자 그대로 보임
• 그래서 매번 ㅇ + 스페이스로 렌더링시키고 ㅇ을 지우는 습관이 생김

🖥️ PC (윈도우 · MS 한글 입력기)

• - 내용 쓰고 바로 윗줄 삽입 같은 단축키를 누르면 용이 조합 중인 채로 명령이 실행돼서 렌더링이 안 됨
• 한글 입력 직후 누르는 단축키(서식, 줄 이동, 체크박스 토글 등) 전반에서 같은 문제

동작 방식

한글 조합이 남아 있을 때 탭·클릭, 모바일 툴바, 엔터, 방향키, 단축키를 누르면 그 순간 조합을 자동으로 확정합니다. 단축키는 명령이 실행되기 전에 확정합니다. 모바일에서 키보드가 내려가거나 깜빡이지 않으며, 자동완성 드롭다운·메뉴·팝업에서는 동작하지 않습니다.

수동 명령 Commit Hangul composition을 모바일 툴바 버튼이나 단축키로 등록해 두면 예비용으로 쓸 수 있습니다.
