Yggdrasil Fixed Tree View

A read-only, alternative Graph View for Obsidian that renders your vault's folder structure as a bottom-rooted trunk-and-branches tree, instead of the wikilink-based force graph the default Graph View shows.

This is a folder-structure visualization, not a link graph. It does not read wikilinks or frontmatter — placement is based entirely on where notes and folders live in your vault.

Features

• Fixed radial tree layout — root/trunk at the bottom, folders and files fanned out above by folder depth, with physics-based relaxation (spring + repulsion + anchor forces) so siblings spread out organically instead of overlapping.
• Overflow clustering — folders with many files collapse into a single cluster node (rendered as a small dot cluster) once a configurable threshold is passed, so dense folders stay readable.
• Toolbar "Display Settings" panel — node size scale, folder-label zoom threshold, attachment visibility toggle, and live physics sliders (repulsion, spring force, center anchor force, damping), each with a synced numeric input box.
• Saved views — save the current display/physics configuration under a name and re-apply it later, per tab.
• Name filter — highlight, dim, or hide nodes by a live text search over file/folder names.
• Predicted timeline mode — a slider to project the tree forward/backward in time, showing estimated future "predicted" leaves per folder based on historical creation rate (keyword-labeled from folder contents), separate from real files.
• Exclude paths / max-leaves / cluster-threshold settings — configurable per vault from the plugin settings tab, so scaffolding or noise folders can be excluded without deleting them.

Installation

Manual

1. Download main.js, manifest.json, and styles.css from the latest Release.
2. Copy them into <your-vault>/.obsidian/plugins/yggdrasil-fixed-tree-view/.
3. Reload Obsidian (or disable/re-enable the plugin) and enable Yggdrasil Fixed Tree View under Settings → Community plugins.

BRAT (beta testing)

Install Obsidian42 - BRAT, then add this repository as a beta plugin.

Usage

• Command palette: "위그드라실 고정 트리 열기" (Open Yggdrasil Fixed Tree) opens the view in a new pane.
• Use the toolbar's 표시 설정 (Display Settings) button to adjust layout, physics, and visibility.
• Use the search box in the top toolbar to filter nodes by name.

Settings

Available under Settings → Community plugins → Yggdrasil Fixed Tree View:

• 제외 경로 (Exclude paths) — folders to omit from the tree entirely.
• 기본 최대 잎 수 (Default max leaves) — number of files a folder can show before overflowing into a cluster.
• 군집 임계값 (Cluster threshold) — total file count in a folder above which clustering kicks in.

Requirements

• Obsidian 1.4.16 or later.
• Desktop and mobile.

Known limitations

• Reflects folder structure only; it intentionally does not read wikilinks, backlinks, or frontmatter.
• Predicted/timeline leaves are heuristic estimates (based on per-folder file-creation rate and TF-IDF keyword naming), not real notes.
• Large vaults (several thousand notes) may take noticeably longer to relax the layout on first open.
