Your Supernote backup (.snbak) typically lives outside your Obsidian vault — wherever you saved it after transferring it from your device. To read it, this plugin needs permission to access a file at the path you provide, outside the vault's own folder. No other files outside the vault are read or written, and nothing is sent over the network.
